Mental Health Awareness Week 11/3-11/7

Join us as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week with themed Spirit Days, special lunch events, and activities that promote self-care, connection, and positivity!

Spirit Week & Lunch Events:

Monday, November 3 - Stay-in-Your-Pajamas Day

No school! Enjoy a restful start to the week!

Tuesday, November 4 - Athletic Wear / Sports Day

Show your team spirit and get moving! Join us for a group walk/run on the track during lunch.

Wednesday, November 5 - Twin / Team Up Day

Find a friend and dress alike! During Advisory, we’ll have a special lesson on Mental Health Awareness, and at lunch, join us in room 107 for a guest Mental Health Speaker.

Thursday, November 6 - Dress Your Feelings Day

Express how you feel through color (red for energetic, yellow for happy, blue for peaceful, and more!) At lunch, enjoy watching Inside Out (Part 1) in the auditorium.

Friday, November 7 - Black & Gold Day

Show your school pride! During lunch, join us in finishing watching Inside Out in the auditorium and enjoy a DJ event on Main Street.

Self-Care Bingo Challenge:
Complete a row on your Self-Care Bingo Board and turn it in to the Counseling Office by Friday, November 7 to be entered in a raffle for a prize! Physical copies can be picked up in the Counseling Office.

  • Several courses at Richard Montgomery HS created summer readings, assignments and review packets in preparation for the next academic year. This page includes a comprehensive list of all assignments. If nothing is listed for a class it means there is NO assignment.
  • Applications for Free & Reduced-Price Meals (FARMS) are now available for the new school year online. Apply online NOW so students receive free meals on the first day of school! This is the fastest way to get your meal benefits when school starts and avoid long processing times. MCPS encourages all families who may be eligible, to apply. To receive this benefit, a new FARMS application must be completed every school year. Fill out your application now at: www.MySchoolApps.com
  • Maryland State requires students receive vaccinations on a schedule deteremind by the CDC in order to attend preschool programs and schools. Students may be exempt from these requirements if a healthcare provider states that the vaccinations are medically contradicted or for religious objections. Families can use the following link to view the 2025-2026 Vaccination Requirements from the state as well as vaccination clinics in the county.

  • Make sure to check Ms. Deeny's Friday RMHS weekly newsletter for important updates. Parents should be checking their email for school updates. The RMHS Weekly Update is sent out Friday evenings to parents and posted to Canvas for students. You can find archived newsletters here.
  • Understand the different emergency preparedness responses that MCPS uses (HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, etc.) as well important system wide emergency management phone numbers on the Department of Safety and Security website
  • Need to add money to your students lunch account? Use the meal payments link to find out how to apply for free & reduced lunch, add money to your students SNAP account, and other important food and nutrition information.
