ABOUT LOIEDERMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL
A Welcome from Our Principal, Ms. Megan McLaughlin
Welcome to A. Mario Loiederman Middle School, home of the Lions! Since opening our doors in September 2005, we've proudly offered Montgomery County's only whole-school, arts-focused magnet program. This unique initiative provides students with a blend of accelerated MCPS core curriculum alongside specialized elective arts courses within a public school setting. Academic immersion in the fine arts is not only part of our school's curriculum, but also an essential component of every student's educational experience. Our goal is for all students to appreciate and promote the arts with pride. Here at Loiederman, we truly believe that every student is an artist.
Mission
At Loiederman Middle School, our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and academically challenging environment where every student can grow through their strengths, interests, and creativity.
Vision
Our vision is to inspire all students to achieve their personal and academic goals through strong relationships, the arts, and meaningful learning experiences. We believe every student deserves to be supported, appropriately challenged, and empowered to build a bright future.

A. Mario Loiederman Magnet Middle School for the Creative and Performing Arts is part of the Middle School Magnet Consortium (MSMC). Students residing within the MSMC boundaries do not have a designated base middle school. Instead, they are placed in one of three magnet middle schools—Argyle, A. Mario Loiederman, or Parkland—through a lottery-based assignment process known as the Choice process. During this process, students and their parents rank their preferred middle school options. For more information about the magnet programs offered at each of the three MSMC schools and details about the Choice process, please visit the MSMC website.
Parents of students from Montgomery County who live outside the MSMC area can obtain a Choice form from any MCPS elementary school, the Middle School Magnet Consortium website, or by contacting the Division of Consortia Choice and Application Program Services (DCCAPS) at 301-592-2040.
