Purple Star Students

At Glen Haven Elementary we recognize the impact military service has on the entire family. We consider any student who has an active duty, veteran, or reservist parent or guardian to be a Purple Star student. We invite all members of the 6 branches of the military and the 9 additional military components and auxiliary forces to participate in our military connected family programming.

Have you completed the Glen Haven Military Connected Family survey? If not, please take a moment to complete this brief survey so we can include your family in military-connected programming.

A message from our military family life counselor

What does a Military and Family Life Counselor do?

Military and Family Life Counselors provide short term, solution-focused non-medical counseling to students whose parent(s) are currently serving on Active Duty, in the National Guard or Reserves to help address issues such as school adjustment, deployment and separation, reunion adjustment, sibling and parent-child communication, behavioral concerns, fear, grief and loss.

If you would like to receive services from the MFLC please contact Frank DaCunha via email at dacunhaf@magellanfederal.com or on the phone at (240) 549-2278.

You can also come to school and meet with him in room number 111.

Scheduling a counseling session is simple and all you need to do is contact the MFLC at their MFLC phone number:  240-549-2278.
