MCPS 250th Anniversary of the United States of America Commemorative eBook

The United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year. To commemorate the milestone, MCPS will create a districtwide eBook titled “Many Voices, One Nation,” featuring one selected student submission from each school. Students may submit a poem, essay, music, performance, literary piece, or artwork. Submissions due by May 14, 2026! Click for all the details!

Our Nation's 250th Anniversary

We are excited to share that our students will soon participate in a special lesson to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. This milestone is often called the "Semiquincentennial". Since the actual anniversary is on July 4th during summer break, the lesson will be taught in June so that all students can celebrate together before the school year ends. Click for more info!
