Meet Flick And The Hallie Wells MESA Team

What happens when middle school students partner with engineers and educators to solve real-world problems? You get Flick—an AI-powered math tutor designed, built and programmed by students from Hallie Wells Middle School.

Guided by their teacher, Dustin Deem, and supported by the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, this team won the Maryland MESA State Championship and is headed to MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition June 23.
