MCPSRA Community Service

Interfaith Works Partnership

MCPSRA has partnered with Interfaith Works (IW), a nonprofit that provides services for people experiencing homelessness and poverty in our Montgomery County community. IW provides emergency shelter, supportive housing, employment programs, food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to 35,000 people every year. Every year, the Board of Directors selects a project to serve our clients directly.
This year, the IW Board of Directors is fundraising to improve the sleeping area at the IW Women’s Center at Crabbs Branch during the shelter’s upcoming renovation. The shelter has expanded to care for more women (50 - 10, over capacity), and your support will create a sleeping area with more privacy along with new beds and secure individual storage cabinets.
The QR code below will enable you to make a donation. No amount is too small...and 100% of your donation goes directly to fund the renovation project.
As a final incentive, MCPSRA will match your donation. So please let us know when you make the donation so we can match it.
Thanks for opening your heart and wallet to our sisters and friends who find themselves in the unenviable position of seeking temporary shelter.

MCPSRA partners with Interfaith Works (IW), a non-profit organization located in Rockville, MD. Our group will be tasked with unpacking, sorting, and hanging gently worn infant, children’s, and adult-sized men/women's clothing in the IW Boutique. IW provides food, shelter, household goods, and clothing to over 20,000 community members.

MCPSRA is scheduled to participate in a Community Service Day from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Interfaith Works, 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, MD.  Watch this space for our next sorting date.

If you’d like to attend contact judy.mills549@gmail.com . Please wear comfortable shoes for standing. We will stock shelves in the Food Pantry or sort and hang clothing for the Clothing Center. For first-timers, there is a brief 10 minute orientation.

Please Note: Interfaith Works will be closed if MCPS closes schools.

We appreciate your support!
