The Board's legislative advocacy process promotes the needs and interests of MCPS to state officials. Since 2001, the Board has developed, adopted, and shared a statement of legislative priorities for each Maryland legislative session.
The Board considers positions on additional legislative and budget issues that arise before, during, and after legislative session. Legislative platforms are distributed to members of the Maryland General Assembly, partner organizations, and the community, and is posted on the Board of Education website.
Questions and requests for printed copies of legislative platforms may be sent to Ms. Patricia Ursprung at Patricia_A_Ursprung@mcpsmd.org or 240-740-3030.
